Client Policies

Booking & Cancellation

Appointments must be booked online, and payment is due at the time of booking. 24-hour notice is required to cancel any appointment. Cancellation within 24 hours of your booked appointment will result in a 50% cancellation fee. Appointments rescheduled with less than 24 hour notice will be charged a $25 rescheduling fee.  Repeated cancellations may result in failure to book future appointments.

Punctuality

Appointment times are as scheduled and cannot extend beyond the stated time to accommodate late arrivals. Please be on time to your appointment.  Sessions will not be discounted or prorated to reflect any missed time.

Illness

Massage/bodywork is not appropriate care for infectious or contagious illness. Please cancel or reschedule your appointment as soon as you are aware of an infectious or contagious condition. If it is within the 24-hour notice period, the cancellation fee may be waived with proper documentation.

Scope of Practice

A massage therapist's scope of practice is limited to manual manipulation of soft body tissues, such as skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. A variety of massage techniques may be used to knead and massage these tissues, varying the amount of pressure and movement.   Massage therapists may not diagnose any medical conditions or prescribe medications.  Your massage therapist will not perform any skeletal or joint manipulations.  During the course of massage treatment, it is normal to experience popping and cracking in some joints.  This is the result of soft tissue release, and will never be done on request or intentionally.

Sexual Impropriety

At Balance Bodywork Therapies, we are dedicated to maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all clients. To uphold these standards, we have a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding sexually inappropriate comments, jokes, gestures, or any other behaviors that breach professional boundaries. Such conduct is not acceptable and will result in immediate termination of the session. Clients who engage in such behavior may also be barred from scheduling future appointments. In cases of severe misconduct, law enforcement will be contacted and we reserve the right to pursue legal action. We expect all clients to conduct themselves with the highest levels of respect and professionalism. If you have any concerns or feedback about the conduct of your therapist or the environment, please let us know immediately so we can address the matter.

Hold Harmless

Massage therapy should never replace medical treatment.  All clients must complete a Health History form prior to their first session, and provide updates as necessary.  While every effort will be made to provide a safe and effective massage therapy session, there are inherent risks associated with any physical treatment. Clients must agree to hold Balance Bodywork Therapies, its employees, and agents harmless from any claims, demands, or liabilities arising from or related to their participation in massage therapy services. This includes, but is not limited to, any injuries or adverse reactions that may occur during or after the session. It is the responsibility of the client to inform the therapist of any health conditions or concerns that may affect their treatment.

Thank you for trusting Balance Bodywork Therapies for your bodywork needs. In order to provide the best possible service to all clients, the following policies will be enforced at all times.  A signed copy of these policies will be kept in your client file.
